Hurghada Airport Passenger Services

For the recent years the Hurghada airport passenger terminal has been constantly reconstructed and expanded thereby developing and improving passenger services.

Take-off and landing formalities

Passengers arriving at the Hurghada airport escape through the arriving area in the left extension of the air terminal. International passengers pass through the passport control and customs supervision. Egypt entry permit can be obtained directly in the arrival area.

Before departure it's necessary to check-in at the departure hall. Checking-in starts 3 hours before the scheduled departure time and ends 1 hour before the departure. After checking-in the special supervision is necessary. Passport control and customs supervision is compulsory for the international passengers.

Public catering

For those who need to take some food there are several cafés, bars and one restaurant at the Hurghada airport. Catering stations can be found in the air terminal and in the customs area as well. National and European dishes are served in the cafés and restaurant of the airport.

There are also numerous coffee and fast-food machines all over the air terminal.

Currency exchange

Egyptian pound is the national currency of Egypt. 1 Egyptian pound consists of 100 piastres.

Currency exchange is possible at the currency exchange offices and bank department in the air terminal. There are also several 24-hour ATMs (cash terminals) at the airport.

Communications

There is a postal office providing mailing and Internet access services at the Hurghada airport. There are also several pay phones for international calls in the air terminal.

Shopping facilities

The Hurghada airport air terminal possesses the widest shopping facilities including a great number of souvenir, jewelry and perfume shops and newsstands. These are the places to spare time before take-off and to buy all the necessary things in.

The departure customs area is famous of its duty-free shops offering local goods, foodstuffs, presents, perfumes, tobacco and alcohol.

Luggage

The Hurghada airport arrival area offers the passengers a cloakroom for their luggage to be stored for some time. There is also the unclaimed luggage room in the arrival area where the lost luggage should be claimed for after the arrival to Hurghada.

Disabled persons services

The Hurghada airport is equipped with the service platforms for wheelchairs which gives the invalid persons wide opportunities for movement. Special service at departure or arrival requires beforehand notification of the servicing carrier.

Children's services

There are no special premises for mother and child at the Hurghada airport. But the air terminal is equipped with the play lots for small children.

Business services

There are no special premises for business meetings and talks at the Hurghada airport. At the same time in a five-minute drive from the airport there is a great number of coastal hotels possessing various chambers and conference rooms equipped with all necessary facilities.

VIP lounge

Hurghada airport offers a VIP lounge. This is the service to be reserved beforehand. The interior atmosphere of the VIP lounge is light and cozy. Free snacks and international magazines are offered there.

Hotel

There is no hotel at the Hurghada airport. The arrivals are welcome at the hotels in the city of Hurghada or at the resorts located not far from the airport.

Car rent

In the Hurghada airport arrival area there is car rental service of Hertz international company. On-line reserving and prepay of a car is possible. There are also local car rental companies offering their services in the airport.

Parking

There is the passenger car parking next to the air terminal of the Hurghada airport. There are places both for short-time parking (up to 24 hours) and for long-time parking (from 24 hours up to some days). Short-time parking places are located just in front of the air terminal and long-time parking places are located inside the parking area.
